Diocese of Chichester invites churches to book for Hope for All Creation conference
Churches across the Diocese of Chichester are being encouraged to book places at Hope for All Creation, an inspirational, interactive and practical conference to support parishes on their creation care and Net Zero Carbon journey.
Taking place on Saturday 16 January 2027, from 10am to 4.30pm at St Andrew’s Church, Burgess Hill, the conference is open to churchwardens, Eco Church officers, clergy, PCC members, and anyone in a church community with an interest in caring for God’s creation.
The Diocese of Chichester is hosting the event alongside the Church of England dioceses of Portsmouth, Guildford, and Winchester. It aims to help churches recognise that creation care is not an optional addition to church life, but a fundamental part of Christian discipleship, mission, and worship.
Speakers will include Ruth Valerio, climate and creation theologian, and Vitalis Ngwambe, racial justice lead for the Diocese of Chichester. Contributions will also come from diocesan bishops and senior clergy, Ecclesiastical Insurance, A Rocha, Climate Stewards, Hazelwood Community, Christian Aid, local young people, and diocesan Net Zero Carbon and communications teams.
Attendees will be able to take part in workshops, group discussions, and practical activities, as well as meet exhibitors from local and national organisations offering support for churches working on energy, buildings, land, worship, community engagement, and sustainable lifestyles.
Bishop Will said: “As Christians, we have always known that this world matters to God, that we are called to care for creation, not as an add-on to our faith, but as part of its very heart.”

Churches are encouraged to book early and to bring a small team, including churchwardens, Eco Church representatives, and others who can help turn ideas into action in their parish.
