The purpose of small grants is to fuel mission and outreach at a local level in parishes as part of the whole-diocese growth strategy with ‘something for every parish that wants to grow.’
What can be funded?
Small Grant funding is for:
- Outwardly focused mission or missional events in a local context
- ‘Seed funding’ for resources that make a big difference locally to welcome, invite and draw people into church
- Resources relating to discipleship or nurture courses
- Missional projects linking parishes to schools and social outreach
- Grassroots community engagement and new worship ventures
What cannot be funded?
- Salary contributions
- A project idea that isn’t missional or outward looking
- Projects without PCC support
- Capital projects, routine repairs and maintenance to buildings

The Mission Fund Committee meets six times a year to consider applications. The next meeting date is 15th September 2026. Applications for consideration at this meeting should be submitted at least a week in advance.
