Diocese of Chichester

Small Grants

The purpose of small grants is to fuel mission and outreach at a local level in parishes as part of the whole-diocese growth strategy with ‘something for every parish that wants to grow.’

What can be funded?

Small Grant funding is for:

  • Outwardly focused mission or missional events in a local context
  • ‘Seed funding’ for resources that make a big difference locally to welcome, invite and draw people into church
  • Resources relating to discipleship or nurture courses
  • Missional projects linking parishes to schools and social outreach
  • Grassroots community engagement and new worship ventures

What cannot be funded?

  • Salary contributions
  • A project idea that isn’t missional or outward looking
  • Projects without PCC support
  • Capital projects, routine repairs and maintenance to buildings
