The Bishop of Chichester has appointed The Revd Angela Martin as the next Archdeacon of Horsham, following the retirement of The Ven Fiona Windsor.

Bishop Martin writes:

"I’m delighted that Angela Martin has accepted my invitation that she be appointed as the next Archdeacon of Horsham in succession to The Ven Fiona Windsor.Angela has been one of the Acting Archdeacons of Horsham since 1 March 2021.Angela will also be continuing as Vicar of Forest Row.

"Over the coming months, consideration will be given to whether pastoral reorganisation should take place in respect of the deaneries which fall within the Archdeaconry of Horsham, but for the time being Angela will be responsible for the deaneries of Cuckfield, East Grinstead, Horsham and Hurst, while the Archdeacon of Chichester will have responsibility for the deaneries of Midhurst, Petworth and Storrington on her behalf.

"Angela’s collation and installation will take place at the Cathedral in the context of Evensong on Sunday 4 July at 3.00pm and the new arrangements will take effect from that date. My grateful thanks go to Angela, Derek Welsman and Julia Peaty for all their work as Acting Archdeacons over the past 15 months."
