Lay Ministry Training Opportunities Announced for 2026 -7

Looking to step into local church leadership? Prospective students are invited to look at upcoming opportunities starting in January 2027. The new Authorised Lay Ministry prospectus offers practical training pathways to equip lay leaders in preaching, children’s ministry, pastoral ministry, rural ministry, worship and liturgy, and youth ministry. Applications have now closed for Authorised Lay Ministry (ALM) courses beginning in September. Those interested in future training opportunities are encouraged to explore the ALM Prospectus for courses starting in January 2027. These including:

  • Preaching, 
  • Children’s Ministry, 
  • Pastoral course (Eastbourne and Horsham), 
  • Rural Ministry, 
  • Worship and Liturgy,
  • Youth Ministry.

Meanwhile, applications are now open for the 2027 intake of the Bishop's Certificate, following the programme's highly successful relaunch. The course offers an accessible and engaging opportunity for people to deepen their faith, understanding, and ministry within their local church communities. A wide range of training and resourcing events is also planned for later this year. Open to anyone in your parish and free of charge, these events provide opportunities for learning, development, and fellowship. Those interested are encouraged to explore the programme and sign up for any events that spark their interest. Future talks include Celtic Saints, The King and the Church of England, Christmas Music, The Sacraments, Galileo and the Church, Dean Walter Hook, and Pastoral Offices. These are all online.
