Venues across the Diocese will host the services, including St Andrew's, Eastbourne; St Matthew's, Hastings; All Saints, Crowborough; All Saints, Hove; and Chichester Cathedral. Services will also be held at Hurstpierpoint College and Christ's Hospital Chapel.

The Bishops of Lewes and Horsham will be joined by other clergy in leading the services.

The Acting Bishop of Chichester and Bishop of Lewes, Will Hazlewood, writes in the order of service: "You are leaving Year 6 with everything you need for the journey ahead: your talents, your friendships, your developing faith and God's constant love".

Each school will be invited to process behind its school banner, creating a wonderful procession and colourful display reflecting the diversity of schools across the diocese.

As the diocese is marking 2026 as the Year of St Matthew, each pupil will be presented with a specially commissioned Gospel of Matthew.

Lesley Hurst, Diocesan Director of Education, said: "These services celebrate the journey of our children through Primary giving thanks for them and their families as they move on to Secondary."

She added: "I am very grateful indeed to the whole team who organise these services, the schools themselves of course and the venues who host us."
