Ordination of Priests 2026
Bishop Ruth ordained five new priests in a special service at St Mary's Church, Horsham.
The five candidates were all ordained deacon last year, and after serving as curates in their respective parishes, they were presented for ordination to the priesthood by Bishop Ruth.
Family members and friends joined parishioners from their respective parishes for the joyful service, to witness each new priest ordained.
The five priested, pictured here with their training incumbents and Bishop Ruth, were:

- Monique Mendes Da Costa who continues to serve at Slaugham and Staplefield Common
- Carolyn Scott who continues to serve at Haywards Heath St Wilfrid
The service took place within the context of the Eucharist and included special readings and music. Bishop Ruth gave the address.
Following their ordination to the priesthood, each candidate went on to celebrate the Eucharist for the first time in their respective parishes on the Sunday.
