Ordination of Priests 2022
The Diocese of Chichester celebrated the ordination of 7 new priests at the weekend as three services took place across the Diocese.
Each of the new priests were ordained deacon a year ago and will continue to serve as curates in the same parishes
Amongst the many things the new priests can look forward to is the celebration of the Eucharist, or Holy Communion, for the first time.
Each of the newly ordained priests will be celebrating their ordinations in the communities in which they serve as well, of course, as with family and friends.
The Bishop of Horsham, Ruth Bushyager, ordained the following as priest on Saturday at All Saints, Hove.
Jan Hendrik Butter – West Blatchington
Laura Elizabeth Darrall - Rustington
Joseph Michael Padfield – East Blatchington and Bishopstone
The Bishop of Lewes, Will Hazlewood, ordained the following as priest at St Cosmas and St Damian Keymer also on Saturday.
Simon James Earnshaw - Clayton with Keymer
The Bishop of Horsham, Ruth Bushyager, then ordained as priest the following at All Saints, Hove on Sunday.
Patrick James Donovan – Chanctonbury
Tobias Joseph Lancaster – Hastings, Holy Trinity
Anna Bouch – Woodingdean
