(HfD) Interim Priest-in-Charge of St Nicolas, Old Shoreham

St Nicolas would be delighted to welcome a kind hearted and community minded priest to Old Shoreham. Love and pastoral care are needed during a period of pastoral reorganisation. First and foremost, we are seeking a parish priest who will simply enjoy their ministry here with us and we will support them as best we can. There is much to enjoy: a glorious Norman church, a loving and faithful congregation, and a joyful setting.

The Church is involved in hosting and supporting a number of community events throughout the year.

It is proposed that the parish of Old Shoreham will move benefices to form a new benefice with New Shoreham and Shoreham Beach. The new parish priest will work collaboratively with the priest-in-charge of New Shoreham (when appointed) and the associate vicar of Shoreham Beach.

We are looking for someone who:

    • Is content in a central but sacramental church tradition
    • Can teach and share faith in a natural way
    • Leads the liturgy with care and reverence
    • loves people
    • Is curious
    • Is unafraid
    • Enables teams
    • has a little experience of pastoral reorganisation
    • Has community spirit

There is a house within walking distance of the church.

For an informal conversation about the role, please contact the Archdeacon of Brighton & Lewes, The Ven. Martin Lloyd Williams, on 07305 412784

This post is intended as an interim appointment under Regulation 29 (1)(j) of the Ecclesiastical Offices (Terms of Service) Regulations 2009.

This is a House for Duty post, with an expectation that the office holder will give the equivalent of 2.5 days per week, including all or part of Sunday.
