Speaking up for creation - big day planned in Bexhill
The Chichester Diocesan Environment Day 2026 takes place at St Peter's Church and Centre, Bexhill-on-Sea on Saturday 16 May (9.30am-4pm) and the theme this year is “Speaking up for Creation.”
Organised by the Diocese of Chichester’s Eco Church and Eco Diocese teams, the day is designed to encourage and equip churches, schools and individuals to care for creation and respond to environmental challenges through faith and practical action.
The keynote speaker will be Polly Eaton from A Rocha UK, the Christian conservation charity behind the national Eco Church programme.
A range of workshops and discussions will explore how churches and communities can engage with environmental issues locally and nationally.
The Diocese is committed to supporting the Church of England’s target of reaching Net Zero Carbon by 2030 and continues to encourage parishes and schools in environmental action and sustainable practice.
Buff Forbes Stone, Environment Officer for the Diocese of Chichester, said:
“This day is an opportunity for people across the Diocese to come together, share ideas and be encouraged in how we care for God’s creation. Come if you have an environment or eco role in your church, or if you just want to learn more. We hope it will inspire practical action and confident advocacy within our churches and communities.”
