Following the decision of our Headteacher to step down and retire, the Governors at St John’s Church of England Primary School are seeking to recruit a new Headteacher for September 2026 to lead our successful and thriving school at the heart of its community. We are looking for an exceptional Headteacher who: 

• will continue to develop the school’s strong Christian values and ethos and high academic standards 
• is an enthusiastic and inspirational leader who can build on our strengths and achievements and continue to take the school forward through a collective vision 
• has a passion for primary education and is committed to ensure that all children are given the best opportunity to enjoy and succeed at school 
• is someone who can bring a sense of fun, energy and passion for learning and undertake all aspects of the role with warmth and good humour 
• values staff, governors and parents in a collective partnership to lead and inspire the children and provide a secure foundation for their lives ahead. 

St John’s is a one form entry primary school which has been oversubscribed for the past two years. The school received good outcomes in both the Ofsted and SIAMS inspections in 2025. There is a healthy relationship with St John the Evangelist Church next door. Parents and pupils place a high importance on the Christian ethos which is evident in the school.
