Two New Honorary Canons Installed at Chichester Cathedral
The Bishop of Chichester, Dr Martin Warner, has installed two new Honorary Canons of Chichester Cathedral, recognising their significant contributions to the apostolic life of the Diocese.
The Revd Dr Dominic Keech (pictured right) has been installed to the Stall of the Prebendary of Selsey. This honour acknowledges Dominic’s outstanding work as a pastor and teacher, drawing on his deep intellect and imagination. His ministry continues to enrich diocesan reflection on the importance of liturgical worship — its dignity and the way that dignity shapes both Church and society.
The Revd Stephen Merriman has been installed to the Stall of the Prebendary of Hova Villa. This recognises Stephen’s exemplary service as coordinator of the bishops’ liturgical chaplains, where his high standard of organisation, pastoral sensitivity, and attentive leadership have served the wider life and mission of the Diocese.
The installations took place during Evensong at Chichester Cathedral on Sunday 22 March 2026, in a service led by Bishop Martin and attended by family, friends, and members of the Cathedral and wider diocesan community.
The service was held in the historic setting of Chichester Cathedral and attended by congregation members, clergy, and guests from across Sussex.
