Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 18-25 January 2026
Christians across the world are invited to come together in prayer during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
Theme for 2026 comes from Saint Paul’s letter to the Ephesians:
“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling”
(Ephesians 4:4)
These words remind us that, despite our different traditions and expressions of faith, we belong to one Body in Christ, united by the same Spirit and called to the same hope.
A Time to Pray and Walk Together
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is a gentle invitation to pause, pray, and reflect on our shared life in Christ. It encourages us to listen to one another, to celebrate what we hold in common, and to seek healing where there is division. As we pray together, we are reminded that Christian unity is not only a future hope, but a calling we live out in love, humility, and mutual respect.

Worship and Prayer Resources
Liturgical resources for the week of prayer for Christian unity (18-25) have been prepared by World Council of churches (WCC) and adapted for local contexts by Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI). These resources are offered to support prayer, worship, and reflection in churches and communities, as we journey together towards the unity Christ desires for his Church.
