Diocesan Harvest Appeal exceeds target for the Holy Land
The Diocese of Chichester’s 2025 Harvest Appeal has raised over £11,000 for Friends of the Holy Land, more than doubling its original goal of £5,000.
The appeal supports people of all faiths in the Holy Land who are facing severe deprivation, including limited access to food, healthcare, housing and education as a result of war, political instability and economic breakdown.
The Bishop of Horsham, the Rt Revd Ruth Bushyager, expressed her thanks to churches and individuals across the diocese who gave so generously:
“Thank you for all you did to support this appeal. I am delighted this money will go to help support the community of Christian brothers and sisters who continue to face hardship in the region, as well as bringing aid to those of other faiths.”
Launched as part of the diocesan Harvest Appeal, this year’s partnership with Friends of the Holy Land has channelled much-needed resources to communities living in areas affected by conflict.
Friends of the Holy Land works to maintain a Christian presence in the region, offering practical and pastoral support through education, employment, and community projects.
The Diocese of Chichester’s Harvest Appeal is held annually to focus on a specific area of need, both at home and overseas. Each year, parishes across Sussex join together to give thanks for God’s provision and share it with others in need.
