Around 90 Readers and ALMs gathered at Holy Trinity Church, Hurstpierpoint, for this year’s Lay Ministry Day recently. The day was an opportunity to learn, share, and reconnect.

The day featured talks from Gerry Howitt, who shared the remarkable work of the Beachy Head Chaplaincy; Fr Felix Smith, who shared about Focal Ministry; and Jenny Brown, who explored the richness of the Gospel of Matthew.

Beyond the talks, there was a sense of fellowship and encouragement as lay ministers from across the diocese came together to celebrate and renew their shared calling.

Michael, Assistant Warden for Lay Ministry, said: “Days like this help us to reconnect, not just with one another, but with the joy and purpose of our ministry. The day reminded us how God is working in our communities in so many different ways.”

Thank you to everyone who came, contributed, and made the day such a joyful celebration of lay ministry across the diocese.
