Bishop Martin writes: In this 950th anniversary year, the Year of Faith, we are celebrating Pentecost by the release of Inspiring Faith, a new, on-line resource for sharing your faith. Follow this link here

This is the first in a series of four. It introduces the elements of Christian life: the Bible, prayer, worship in church, and who Christians are. The series will then continue to introduce what Christians believe about God the Father, and creation; God the Son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour; and God the Holy Spirit who sustains Christian living.

Inspiring Faith is an accessible and fascinating programme of faith-sharing. It will enable every candidate for confirmation to be sponsored and accompanied personally in the exploration of the Christian faith. Every member of a congregation could be a sponsor, and feel the excitement of re-telling the story of faith to a person you then present to the bishop for Confirmation.

For the vast majority of people today, the language of Christian faith is completely foreign and unintelligible. We learn best when we learn with someone else.

Inspiring Faith will teach those who do not know the language of faith. It will also refresh the faith of those who accompany another person who is seeking to know, love and follow Jesus Christ, drawn and inspired by the Holy Spirit who has been sent to us by God the Father.
