In his tenth year as our Diocesan Bishop, Bishop Martin opened the winter Diocesan Synod meeting with his presidential address, followed by reports on recent activities and updates on Proclaiming the Mystery of Faith for 2023-2025.

The business of Synod covered the presentation of the budget, which was approved, along with and presentations from Canon Rob Dillingham and Diocesan Secretary Gabrielle Higgins on deanery planning.

Martin Auton-Lloyd, CEO  of Family Support Work (FSW) gave an update on the work and Trevor Cristin, Diocesan Director for Education, spoke to his report on the work of the education team focusing on the Growing Partnership's scheme.

A panel shared information on the cost of living and energy crisis and members shared initiatives from their parishes.

Synod concluded with a presentation to Bishop Martin to mark his 10 years in the Diocese. A video of images from the 10 years in the diocese was played and Bishop Martin was presented with a gift by bishops Ruth & Will and Gabrielle Higgins - on behalf of everyone in the Diocese.
