School marks Christingle 50th despite snow and chilly weather.
Children from South Bersted school in West Sussex celebrated at a Christingle 50 service at Chichester Cathedral on Friday, February 1 in aid of The Children's Society.
The Reverend Canon Tim Schofield, the Precentor, welcomed the young people and was joined by Reverend Mike Todd (Church Engagement Manager) and Ruth Andoh-Baxter (Relationship Manager) from the charity.
The children sang heartily and there was a beautiful piano rendition of the official Christingle 50 Song 'Light a Candle'
Ruth said: “We are grateful to the Cathedral’s Education Team who went the extra mile to organise the activity and special thanks go to the cathedral volunteers who distributed and lit the Christingles.
“We are delighted to engage with the community in this way and hope to welcome many more children to engage next time in this and other community initiatives."
