Revd Martin Lloyd Williams licensed to the post of Archdeacon of Brighton and Lewes
Revd Martin Lloyd Williams was licensed on Sunday 1 March to the post of Archdeacon of Brighton and Lewes during Evensong in Chichester Cathedral. The new role, agreed when a fourth archdeaconry for the diocese of Chichester was created last year, now means that for the first time in three years all the full-time posts of those who serve the diocese as members of the bishop's staff will be occupied.
Please pray as we seek to support priest and people in the Mission of God to Sussex. Martin was ordained priest in 1994. He has been Rector of St Michael's Without in the city centre of Bath for the last 17 years, and for the last four years he’s been Rural Dean of Bath. He is married to Jackie and they have three grown up children. Archdeacons work with deaneries in the Diocese in tandem with the bishops as well as assisting in the day to day running of church through its boards and committees.
