Archdeacon of Chichester's Thanksgiving Eucharist postponed

Please note that Archdeacon Douglas was taken ill at the weekend (9 June) and his planned final thanksgiving Eucharist, due to take place at the Cathedral this weekend (16 June), has now been postponed. Douglas is receiving excellent medical support and is being remembered in many people’s prayers. Please join them in praying for his healing.

Archdeacon Douglas’ Farewell Eucharist will now take place at the Cathedral on Saturday 13 October 2018 at 11.00am.

Douglas writes:

Dear Friends,

It is with great regret that I have to postpone Saturday’s Farewell Eucharist. I was taken to hospital over the weekend to have emergency surgery for an ulcer. I had the operation early on Monday morning and am happy to say it has been a complete success. There is no guarantee that I will be discharged before Saturday. I am so sorry for any inconvenience caused and my prayer is that no-one will turn up at the Cathedral to find that nothing is happening!

Could I please ask for your prayers

With warmest best wishes.

As ever,

Archdeacon Douglas
