Acting Archdeacons appointed

Bishop Martin announced today that he has appointed The Revd Canon Mark Standen and The Revd David Twinley to serve as Acting Archdeacons of Chichester.

Their appointment is from 1 May 2018 to 31 January 2019.

They will shadow Archdeacon Douglas McKittrick and be briefed by him through until his retirement on 1 July and then come fully into role thereafter.

Mark will have special responsibility for the Deaneries of Arundel and Bognor and Worthing and will be supported by Archdeacon Martin Lloyd Williams. David will have special responsibility for the Deaneries of Chichester and Westbourne and will be supported by Archdeacon Fiona Windsor.

Bishop Martin said: ‘I am enormously grateful to Mark and David for agreeing to serve in this way, which will allow me some time to reflect on the process for the appointment of a new Archdeacon of Chichester in due course’.
