Clergy and lay elected representatives of the Diocese of Chichester join other members of the national General Synod of the Church of England in Westminster today as three days of business begins (8-10 February).
The Bishop of Chichester, Dr Martin Warner, is taking part in a presentation on safeguarding on Saturday morning.
Among other interesting debates will be a focus on the issues surrounding parents of Downs Syndrome children and how the church and others can respond more effectively to support them.
Food waste, digital evangelism and closer workings with the Methodist Church also feature on the agenda. Full details are here
Dr Warner said today: "This is a particularly relevant agenda in terms of key issues facing our wider communities and the Church and I am sure that those representing the Diocese will make an effective contribution as always. "
