Keeping a sense of hope and working towards a better world for everyone is the theme of the Bishop of Chichester’s new year video message which is broadcast from today on the Diocesan website www.chichester.anglican.org
Dr Martin Warner reminds his viewers that 2018 marks the centenary of the conclusion of the First World War and pinpoints the same spirit of vision and hope for those dreaming of a better world.
Dr Warner believes that those who gave their lives so bravely one hundred years ago would surely challenge us today by asking: “what signs are there of difference?” as we always look to the future.
As an example of a spirit of selflessness and working to improve the lot of others Dr Warner interviews Worthing Churches Homeless Projects's Sue Stephens about their work with the homeless across Sussex.
Dr Warner explains that many of today’s volunteers are the same age as those who lost their lives in the First World War and suggests that people who Today continue to have hope in the hearts and who dream of a better world remain key to all our futures at the start of 2018.
