Partnership looks to grow church engagement with the community

The Diocese of Chichester has joined up with The Children’s Society to help parishes grow church engagement within their communities.

Jessica Meale, Regional Fundraising Manager for The Children’s Society, said: “The Chichester Diocesan strategy talks about Church Growth, numerical and spiritual and also contributing to the common good.

“The Children’s Society has a wealth of experience and resources to help churches look at innovative ways to engage in mission and outreach to children and families through church activity.

“We will be working with the Archdeacon of Horsham, Fiona Windsor and Fr. Paul Doick of St Peter’s Church Henfield, to address the ways in which churches could engage with different supporters and grow church engagement with the community.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to explore how we can work together in partnership to make this happen.”

There will be a free Engaging with Children and Families in your parish workshop open to all parishes across the diocese. The free workshop will take place at St Peter’s Church Henfield from 10.00-15.00 on Saturday 28th October 2017.

If you would like to book your place on this free course, please click on the following link Engaging with children and families in your parish to register by Friday 20th October 2017

Refreshments will be provided but you are asked to bring along your own lunch.
